Prabowo-Sandi Ready to Face the Second Debate Without the Question Question

JAKARTA - The steps of the General Election Commission (KPU) which changed the format of the second debate without any lattice were welcomed by Prabowo-Sandiaga's National Winning Body (BPN). Prabowo's team hopes that the second debate with the theme of energy, food, natural resources, and the environment will be better and quality for the people.

"Regarding the KPU's plan, we will not give our grid, we are ready to follow it, especially for the purpose of making the debate more qualified," said Andre Rosiade, BPN spokesman, on Sunday (01/20/2019).

Andre said, that the Prabowo-Sandi pair was also ready to face the second debate without the question grid. Andre Rosiade said that his party also supports if the KPU prohibits Candidates for Candidates for President-Candidates for Vice-Presidents to bring contests or tablets when the debate takes place.

"So that the people get answers from the candidate's head not from text or cheat, so that the people can really assess the quality of each candidate," Andre Rosiade said.

Wahyu Setiawan, the KPU Commissioner, previously said that all KPU Commissioners had conducted a Plenary Meeting to extensively evaluate the course of the initial debate. The result, he promised to improve the format and mechanism of debate to be even better.

"We will design the second debate, the format and mechanism in such a way as to enable the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairs to show performance, capacity related to the delivery of big ideas contained in the vision, mission, agenda to lead Indonesia in the next five years," Wahyu said Setiawan at D'Hotel, Jalan Sultan Agung, South Jakarta, Sunday (01/20/2019).

One format that will be overhauled in the debate is to remove the question grid from the panelists to the Candidate pair. In addition, the duration of the vision-mission presentation and the Candidate Pair's agenda will be extended.

The format that will be overhauled next is the technical stage. Wahyu Setiawan explained that his party received many criticisms related to the technical stage in the first debate. Wahyu said, the People felt uncomfortable because of the noise given the initial debate was also attended by supporters of the Candidate Pair.
